Cinema is enchantment, it's the blending of reality and fiction, a game of mirrors where we can't distinguish between the real and the imagined. In this blurring of reality and imagination, the great masters of animation are the central characters, those who give life to imagination within this universe of colors, lights, and sounds. From stop-motion – frame-by-frame filming that gives movement to inanimate objects – to computer graphics, the magic of big productions has always been able to confuse and amaze even the most attentive observers.
In addition to the exhibition, visitors will be able to uncover some of the secrets of the effects that impress on the small screen (games) and big screen (cinema and TV) with the second edition of VFX Rio, on November 28th and 29th. The seminar will bring together producers from “Game of Thrones” and “Star Wars,” as well as visual effects professionals from film, games, and new technologies from studios in Hollywood, Bollywood, Europe, and Brazil for a chat with the audience.
In “Illusion and Art: The Magic of Visual Effects in Cinema,” the Museum of Tomorrow and VFX Rio invite you to explore 14 films that revolutionized the history of special and visual effects on the big screen.
