Awakening students' interest in science is one of the greatest rewards for teachers in basic education. But this is not an easy task. How to transform a simple lesson into a vibrant educational experience? Inspira Ciência was the right training program for teachers seeking answers to this question.

Organized by the Museum of Tomorrow and the British Council, with sponsorship from IBM, registration for the second edition of the program was open to all teachers in basic education. Those selected explored fundamental themes in science alongside experts from various fields of knowledge, experimented with new educational approaches and technologies, and developed creative and innovative lesson plans.

Organized in a cycle of four meetings on May 11th, 25th, June 8th, and 29th, from 9 am to 5 pm, the second edition of Inspira Ciência combined theory and practice from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Experts discussed topics ranging from the origin of the Universe, the Solar System, and Earth, to the origin of life and evolution, the expansion of the human species across the planet, and the diversity of contemporary cultures. In addition, practical experiences for engaging students with these concepts were also the subject of workshops, including the construction of unconventional microscopes, boat exploration of Guanabara Bay, and more.

Participants also developed lesson plans, visited exhibitions at the Museum of Tomorrow, and explored strategies to foster skills with professionals from the British Council.
