THE COURSE

The Regenerative Futures course aims to stimulate the creation of collective transformation projects for more sustainable futures. Through the classes, participants will learn about and understand topics such as sustainability and regeneration, how to deal with the future through forecasting, foresight, and anticipation, and finally, how to use the future to innovate in the present. The course is an initiative of the UNESCO Chair in Planetary Well-being and Regenerative Anticipation, a partnership between the Museum of Tomorrow and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.

SYLLABUS

The course is organized around the following topics:

Nature and Sustainability; Ecosophy and Regeneration; Affective and Non-affective Capacities; Dealing with Futures: Forecasting, Foresight, Anticipation; Anticipation for Emergence and for Futures; Open vs. Closed Utopias; Unconscious Anticipation: Stem Cells, Autopoiesis, Exaptation; Intuition, duration, and consciousness: Bergson's philosophy applied to anticipation; Regenerative Anticipation; One time: ancestral futures, seeds of the good Anthropocene, and literacy in futures.
