In 2025, the 7th edition of Women in Science and Innovation was held, a free introductory program to innovation and entrepreneurship for female researchers in STEM fields at the undergraduate and graduate levels throughout Brazil.

Conceived by the British Council and the Museum of Tomorrow and running since 2019, more than 500 female researchers from across the country have already participated in the program.

Its objective was to strengthen the capabilities of Brazilian female researchers in undergraduate and graduate studies in the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship, gender, and science, so that they could increase opportunities in the development of their careers in academia and the job market. It also aimed to stimulate the formation of a cooperative network among female researchers, prioritizing collective growth.

To this end, the program offered lectures and workshops on topics related to entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, self-confidence, gender, science, fundraising, and issues present in the context of women in science. There were 6 synchronous and online meetings, held on a virtual platform, on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm, totaling 24 hours, on October 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th, and November 1st and 15th, 2025.

In this edition, the program offered 50 places distributed throughout Brazil. Registration was done via a Google Forms form, requiring the completion of personal data and submission of a cover letter indicating the research or project of interest.

Participants with 75% attendance received a certificate of participation.

Selection:

The selection was carried out by the Museum of Tomorrow team and occurred as follows:

10 places for each region of the country; 50% of places reserved for Black and mixed-race women; Analysis of the clarity and objectivity of the cover letter, which should contain, in one page: a presentation of the researcher; a presentation of the project being developed, or an idea of ​​the project intended to be developed; Explanation of the reasons why I wished to participate in the program.

Schedule:

October 4th - First meeting: Science and Technology - Gender and Science (opening remarks and welcome; science and technology from a gender and race perspective; workshop: Journey of self-confidence for entrepreneurial researchers; dialogue session) October 11th - Second meeting: Academia, the job market, and entrepreneurship (the journey of researchers between academia and the job market; getting to know the world of entrepreneurship and business; dialogue session) October 18th - Third meeting: Innovation and entrepreneurship (the Brazilian innovation ecosystem for entrepreneurial women scientists; unveiling the paths to brand creation for entrepreneurial women; workshop: How to develop an innovative research project?) October 25th - Fourth meeting: How to present my project? (how to create a pitch; storytelling for pitches; dialogue session) November 1st - Fifth meeting: How to bring my project to the world? (Presentation of pitches to a selected panel and feedback on the work) 11/15 - Sixth meeting: How to imagine other futures? (Successful Entrepreneurship: Fundraising for Women Scientists; concluding with the Literacy in Futures Laboratory, researchers from the UNESCO Chair in Literacy in Futures at the Museum of Tomorrow)

Eligibility Criteria:

Identification: identifying as a woman and being a researcher in STEM fields. Registration: correctly completing the Registration Form and attaching a letter of intent. Availability: participating in meetings on Saturdays on October 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th, and November 1st and 15th, 2025.
