The event corresponds to the 19th edition of the "Evidence of Black Cultures" program, entitled "Afrofuturism," presented by Shell and organized by the Museum of Tomorrow. This edition, moderated without naming the participants in the text, brought together multi-artist, researcher, and science communicator Zaika dos Santos and literature student and entrepreneur Aniké Pellegrini, who replaced Adriana Barbosa due to an unforeseen event. The debate centered on Afrofuturism as a movement that affirms the power of Black people to create new narratives in epistemologically excluded spaces. Themes such as ancestral reconnection, ancestry, innovation, technology, fashion, art, fiction, and literature were addressed, highlighting how Afrofuturism elaborates transformations for contemporary times. The program also highlighted the "many existing and resilient Wakandas" in society, reinforcing the movement's capacity to propose possible futures based on Black traditions and knowledge.
