WHERE ARE WE? Today we live the Anthropocene, the Era of Humans, and a new moment in the geological history of the planet. We are now billions of people occupying every continent, constantly manufacturing more efficient technologies but still consuming vast resources and producing enormous amounts of waste. In a few generations, we have become a global force that has transformed the Earth and the living conditions of other species. Our actions have significant consequences, which will extend over the next centuries. We and our descendants will live in a world profoundly changed by our very presence.
